Gleeson moves up Lexus Race to Mount Juliet

Donal Gleeson’s dramatic win in the PGA Challenge at Carton House last weekend has propelled him up to 13th place in the Lexus Race to Mount Juliet in association with Ping, a jump of 17 places. Donal’s second round 65 pushed first round leader Damian Mooney into a second place finish but Damian’s 5000 points for second place has tightened up the Order of Merit’s Top 3.

The race is on to get into October’s final event, the Lexus Race to Mount Juliet in association with Ping Tournament, with players in the Top 60 still able to qualify for the prestigious event. With 10 more qualifying events to go in the season an exciting climax is guaranteed for players to win one of the 30 places available.

This week’s events include the popular Balbriggan Pro Am on Friday and the start of the PGA Southern Championship at Powerscourt on Sunday with the Pro Am, followed by the 2 Round Tournament on Monday and Tuesday. The PGA Southern Championship gives the players an opportunity of winning a share of 50,000 Order of Merit points with 6,500 points to the winner.
