The GAA in Laois and all over the country has been rocked by the sudden death of Portlaoise and county football star Peter McNulty.

The twenty five year old half-forward McNulty was supposed to play for Portlaoise in Sunday’s Laois Senior Football Championship semi-final against Stradbally, but the Laois county board decided to cancel the match as a mark or respect.

McNulty was at training on Thursday evening where he played a full part in the session . He was found dead at home on Saturday. A post-mortem due to be carried out yesterday.
