Limerick’s Andy Lee (pro-record 27-1, 19 Ko’s), takes on Alexis Hloros (16-4-2, 12Ko’s) on March 10th in Detroit according to the respected website boxingscene.com
As you will recall, Lee was originally scheduled to return on the Sergio Martinez-Matthew Macklin undercard on March 17th in New York City, but he withdrew from the show while trying to secure an April fight with WBA champion Felix Sturm.
Agreement for that fight could not be reached and instead Sturm took on Sebastian Zbik .
It is anticipated that should he defeat Hloros , Lee would then be at the ‘head of the queue’ to face WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in an HBO televised main event in June.
Lee and Manager Emanuel Steward are still very much looking forward to an eventual championship bout with Sergio Martinez, nut first things first and that means defeating Hloros on March 10th.
