Tony McCoy hoping to resume riding on Thursday

Champion jockey Tony McCoy is hopeful of returning to the saddle on Thursday after recovering from the injuries sustained in a fall last month.

The 16-time champion has been absent since December 30, when he fractured his ribs and bruised his lungs after suffering a fall at Taunton.

The Irish rider saw a specialist on Monday and after getting the all clear he is planning to return to the saddle later this week at Warwick.

He told the Daily Mail: “The doctor is very happy so I should be back on Thursday.”
