Cork is gearing up for a major motorsport spectacle as Red Bull Homerun takes over South Mall. The event will celebrate Cork native and two-time Drift Masters Champion Conor Shanahan, who will be joined by fellow drivers James Deane, Jack Shanahan and Conor Falvey.

Former Formula One driver Patrick Friesacher will also be in Cork to drive the iconic Oracle Red Bull Racing RB7. Here’s what fans need to know before heading into the city.

What cars will be at Red Bull Homerun?

The headline machine is the Oracle Red Bull Racing RB7, driven by Friesacher. The car helped the team win both the Formula One Constructors’ and Drivers’ World Championships in 2011, taking 12 victories from 19 Grands Prix.

The RB7 is powered by a V8 engine limited to 18,000 RPM, producing the distinctive sound associated with the iconic Formula One car.

Fans will also see Conor Shanahan behind the wheel of his Toyota GT86, which he has driven throughout Europe this season on his way to second place in the Drift Masters Championship.

What can fans expect?

Red Bull Homerun will bring the spectacle of Formula One and drifting to the streets of Cork, with high-speed action from some of Ireland’s leading drift drivers alongside the Oracle Red Bull Racing RB7.

Are tickets still available?

Final tickets are on sale now at RedBull.ie/Homerun. Accessible tickets are also available through the website. Numbers are limited and tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Is there a garage display?

The Red Bull Homerun Garage Display is sold out. Ticket holders can see the Oracle Red Bull Racing RB7 and Conor Shanahan’s Toyota GT86 up close at Lapp’s Quay, Cork city centre, between 12pm and 2pm on Saturday, October 10.

Please note: The Garage Display is a separate event from the main Red Bull Homerun show on South Mall that evening.

How can I get to Red Bull Homerun?

Significant road closures will be in place around Cork city centre. Fans are encouraged to plan their journey in advance, use public transport or walk where possible, and allow extra time when travelling into and around the city.

Closed from 7pm on Thursday, October 8, until 12pm on Sunday, October 11. Lapp’s Quay will be closed from its junction with Parnell Bridge to its junction with Clontarf Street.
South Mall
Closed from Parliament Street to Parnell Place from 2pm on Saturday, October 10, until 6am on Sunday, October 11.
Parnell Bridge
Closed from Parnell Place to Anglesea Street from 6pm on Saturday, October 10, until 10pm on Sunday, October 11.
Terence MacSwiney Quay

The drivers

Conor Shanahan

Cork-born Conor Shanahan is one of the leading names in international drifting. He began drifting at the age of nine and became the youngest driver to win British, Irish and European professional drifting events.

Shanahan claimed his first Drift Masters Championship title in 2023 and his second in 2025, winning three of the season’s six rounds. He also won the opening round of the 2026 Formula DRIFT season in the United States.

Patrick Friesacher

Austrian driver Patrick Friesacher became Red Bull’s first Junior Driver in 1994. He competed in Formula One with Minardi during the first half of the 2005 season.

After his time in Formula One, Friesacher became an Oracle Red Bull Racing Exhibition Driver and an instructor at the Red Bull Ring. Between 2017 and 2018, he also drove the team’s two-seater F1 Experience car.

James Deane

James Deane is one of Ireland’s most accomplished professional drift drivers. From Castletownroche in Cork, he began competing in 2006 and has won five Formula DRIFT Championships, including back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025. He has also recorded multiple podium finishes in the Drift Masters European Championship.

Jack Shanahan

Killavullen’s Jack Shanahan began racing in hot rod competition at the age of 10 before moving into drifting. He has claimed multiple international victories, including a championship win in 2021.

In 2025, Shanahan made his Formula DRIFT Championship debut, finishing sixth overall and earning Rookie of the Year honours.

Conor Falvey

At 18, Cork driver Conor Falvey is one of the emerging talents on the Drift Masters grid. In June 2026, he claimed his first Drift Masters podium at Mondello Park, finishing second after reaching the final. It was the best result of his career to date.
